Unit 1 Reflection

Before entering WRIT 100, I have a had experience in English honors at my high school. I am grateful for the prestigious standard that my school held my classmates and I. Thus far, in WRIT 100, I have sharpened those skills and have also refreshed my brain on my writing foundation. My workshop experience went really well for me personally. I like my group, and I feel the information given to me was useful to benefit my paper. In the workshop, I received good feedback to have better organization within my paper by splitting my paper into more paragraphs. During the writing process, I discovered my gratitude for coming to college out of state and meeting new people and sharing new experiences. The paper helped me to reflect on my decisions by choosing to leave Louisiana and most of my friends behind and to open up to a new environment. In my paper, I feel as if my transitions and relation to the quotes I chose are strong points in my paper. For weaknesses, I had to improve my paper organization and rewrite sentences to become clearer to the reader. I also had to fix my quotation to the correct format to be in standard with MLA format. I also chose not to use some feedback after careful consideration. I would rewrite the new feedback and analyzed if it would fit with my writing style or not. All in all, I think writing assignment 1 was a positive experience. I am excited to expand my writing knowledge and to become the best writer I can be. By using my skills, I enjoyed writing about my personal experience of the first 4 weeks of college. It has helped me set my aspirations for what I want to do with the rest of my time at Ole Miss and into my adult life.
