In a study a the University of Western Australia, they look at incorporating more bus transportation to campus and making campus parking rates higher (dell’Olio, et al. 149). Ole Miss could also do something like this. Even though there is a parking fee to park on campus, the parking is too overcrowded and there is not enough parking for the students. By raising the price, buying a parking pass can be less enticing for students and their parents, which could lead them to seeking other options. Another solution could be a bus system going to residential areas around campus.  According to Luigi dell’Olio, et al., using a fare system to go to residential areas will make it more convenient to take the bus instead of driving your own vehicle (153). This point from dell’Olio fits some of the problems Ole Miss has. Bus transportation to and from near off-campus housing will invite more people to take the bus and not have to worry about finding a parking spot. The bus system will also allow students to rush less during the morning and worry about finding a spot to part in time for class.

By using a fare, surrounding areas can take the bus, rather than driving their car.
